I am not familiar with that brand. I have used Watson batteries for my Canon and Sony cameras for years with no problems. I buy from B&H (www.bhphotovideo.com). I have always been very pleased with prices, service, and products I bought from them. I hear that Adorama (spelling?) is another good place to buy photographic equipment. An advantage to buying from someone who specializes in photographic equipment is that they are probably familiar with non-manufacturer brands and can give advice about their performance. I HIGHLY recommend B&H for good prices, rock-solid reliability, and knowledgeable sales staff.

I've used Watson and Wasabi.

I don't think I've ever bought a camera maker's battery, and I'm talking a dozen cameras from several manufacturers over many years. No problems - only money saved. On Amazon, and elsewhere, you can get two batteries and a home/car charger for $25.

Thanks for all of the suggestions and comments. I feel comfortable with what I bought. If I didn't need it immediately for a trip, I would have bought online for a better price.

Most batteries OEM & "knock offs" all come out of the same, mostly far East, factories with little difference in quality, only the labels on the batteries are different. It's easier and cheaper for the camera manufacturer to buy them than set up their own factories.

I was away on a trip, and I was shocked to find that I had only one battery for my Sony NEX-7. I bought one in a camera store for $85. Amazon sells the Sony battery for $50, and I could have gotten two off-brands plus a charger for $22. Good old local camera stores. An we wonder why they're disappearing.

Most resent cameras bought has been canon 6D, and Nikon D810. When purchased I received a free battery by Watson, so no need at this time for extra battery. However, I have bought extra batteries thru eBay from Hong Kong that were Nikon brand (same as that came with camera), half the price here in the States. Something you might look into as to buying other than third party; buying original brand.

I guess its a matter of wallet size, 50+ for the manufactures battery, 24 for two batteries with a charger. Same amp hour ratings.

Guess I figured I'd put enough into the camera.

It's a swings-and-roundabouts deal. I bought one off-brand for my T4i which works just like the Canon one it came with. I bought a couple for my SX50 which died within months. Even fresh out of the charger, they held basically enough charge to turn the camera on and open the menu, then they would switch off. I think the duds were 'Photive', but I'm not sure...

Digipower is a sub of Mizco. They supply batteries for a wide range of cellphone accessories and cameras. How good they are I don't know.

I have been buying Wasabi batteries and chargers for years. Have them for Fuji, Canon, Sony A6000, Nikon (3), Canon camcorder. They have performed perfectly. None has ever failed on me.

Keep in mind also that there are many brands of batteries out there but only a few manufacturers... just like DVD discs, only a few make them under various brands.

I frown on 3rd party batteries because of problems I've had. Others swear by them so who's to say. Best of luck.

First- Welcome. As has been said many times, there are only a few battery makers. No camera company makes batteries. they buy then fron the battery makers. I hae used third party batteries and cant tell the difference between them and my Canon battery, and they work just fine in the canon charger. They may not hold a charge for quite as long as the OEM battery but , as I am not a pro and don't do several hundred shots at a time so it desn't make any difference.. BTW live view eats batteries regardless of the brand. Just my .02 cents.

I wonder if Panasonic isn't the exception. They certainly mfg batteries. I don't know about today but I think it was Olympus that made Panasonic's cameras years ago.

Check these original Nikon brand, includes, shipping. I have bought from Hong Kong, no problem, however will take more time to arrive, but you will receive the Nikon brand original battery half the cost and buying two, save even more.
