P900 firmware upgrade V1.1 to V 1.2

I received information that an update to the firmware for the P900 was available. I followed the instructions to the letter and tried 4 times to upload to the camera with no success. When I go to firmware version on the camera all it tells me is I have version 1.1 and no instructions on what to do next. Has anyone else done this with good results?

I'll provide some feedback for you. I got the program to show up on the Firmware Update screen, but it told me I already had version 1.1 and asked if I wanted to update to version 1.1. I canceled. If it had said version 1.2, I'd have told it to go ahead. Maybe I need to keep checking around for the newer version.

OK, up and working with the correct version. When you transfer the file from your computer to your SD Card reader, be sure that what you transfer is the file that says "firmware". When I first tried transferring the file, I caught a folder above that that said p900update. Don't take that one along ...... go down to "firmware" and copy that to the SD card reader. Run the menu item that says Firmware version, and it should offer to update to version 1.2 Be sure you have a fairly fresh battery before you say yes to the update. The firmware update must run to completion or you may lose all the instructions that run the camera.

Worked perfect for me. Only thing was that I got firmware 1.2 installed without 1.1 on first. Is that going to be a problem?

What does the monitor show now with the latest upgrade? And if you don't use the remote?

According to Nikon 1.2 should have the stuff from 1.1 so the latest version will be the right one to get.

Am I reading things wrong? I cannot find that the download works with Windows 10? 8.1 is the last windows release the download instructions list??
