I have been waiting for the confluence of a gorgeous day and low tide so that I could take my new Canon 10-22 wide-angle lens and make the 50-mile trip to Campobello Island, New Brunswick, just across the bridge (and border) from Lubec, Maine. When the tide is low you can walk across a sandbar to its' iconic East Quoddy Head Lighthouse. While you can get good photos of it with a telephoto, I thought this lens would enable some nice photography. And yesterday I found that with a donation to their restoration fund I could climb up in the tower! Here's a few from yesterday:

Stunning photos. It looks like that lens is a keeper. I especially like #4.

Thanks. There would be no way to get a photo like that without this lens - I am very pleased with it.

Great images of a beautiful place. The 10-22 is one of my favorites. If anyone is in the Downeast Maine region on July 5th, the West Quoddy Head Light Keepers Association is providing tours of OUR lighthouse in Lubec.

Took a motorcycle trip to that area a number of years ago. Nice photos. Thanks for bringing it back to me.

Great set. I've travelled in the area extensively back when we lived in NH. Guess I made a mistake not getting to Campobello Island. Thanks for the tour.

I agree - it happens only once a year, and is a great and unusual opportunity for anyone who loves lighthouses. And the two Quoddy Head lighthouses are two of the most fantastic you can find. We were at the West Quoddy Head Light two years ago on the 4th.

I have that same lens. Won't work on my 5d mark III but can still use it on my older 50d. Love the lens. Have take. Some mighty good pics with it. Your lighthouse pics are super good. Congrats.

I enjoyed the lighthouse shots most, have been in the towers of Fairport Harbor light, Ohio, Stonington,Ct light and Pt. Betsie Light, Mich.
