Gregory's latest posting had an image that just begged to be sketched. With Gregs permission I downloaded the one that I wanted to work on and provided Gregory with 3 different renditions. He selected the two he like the best and here they are for I hope your enjoyment. Please try the downloads.

Great job Jim. I like the fossilized look in the first but the sun burst in the second just mimics the neck feathers splayed out in the second. Mighty nice👏

Thanks Frodo, I hope you got to see the third one on this same thread that I posted later; its more along the lines of a fantasy rendition. I really appreciate you stopping by and the very nice comment. Thanks again my friend. :-D

Beautifully done! I like the second of these best, almost a fantasy-type shot, but very well done. Excellent work!

Jim, Beautiful interpretations, both. What software and technique(s) were used to accomplish the sketch version? Very unique image. Is there a tutorial on the UHH website?

Gregory suggested that I put the final rendition of todays work up here to see if it would create any interest, so here it is. Download provided

"Spirit of the Great Blue" is one of the finest that I have ever seen. Especially on the download. I know Greg is pleased. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Lou B; First thank you for your visit and kind comments; As to tutorial's I really don't know of any, but this might help: Software used starts with LR5 from there I move the image to be worked on to PSE12 where I perform cropping to get the desired composition; from there I call a program (a plug in to PSE12 called SmartPhotoEditorStudio which I will refer to as SPE) in SPE there are literally hundreds of masks that can be adopted to the desired result and each mask is modifiable to get exactly the result I'm looking for. Once I have that, I go back to PSE12, add my personal watermark and a frame type outline. I then save my work as a JPG file and publish. I hope this helps and I would love to see some of your work once you try it. Regards Jim

Hi Frank and thanks so much for that extremely nice compliment. I initally thought that Spirit was a little far out there for most tastes but Gregory convinced me to add it to the posts. Now I'm really glad I did. Thanks again for the visit, the nice compliment and thanks for those thumbup's they are really appreciated my friend. :-D :-D

Jim.... I have LR5 and PSCC so I have 3/4 of the software needed. I'll look up the plug-in you used. I appreciate you sharing with me.

Thanks,

Lou B.
