I notice that computers and laptops seem to be on the way out. The new all in one machines seem to top out with 13" screens. My question is what are we going to do for editing our shots, storing and sharing our shots?
Thanks for your Imput!

We're going to continue to use desktop computers and laptops, because they are anything but on the way out!

All in ones are to say the least are non performers. People who buy them need to do some homework if they plan to use them for anything other than email.

What evidence is there that desk tops and lap tops are on their way out? I wouldn't worry about this too much. :)

I haven't seen or heard of anything about desktops and laptops being on the way out.
Apple offers the following:

Laptops
MacBook-12 inch
MacBook Air- 11 inch and 13 inch
MacBook Pro-13 inch
MacBook Pro with Retina Display-13 inch and 15 inch

Desktops
iMac-21.5 inch and 27inch
iMac with Retina Display-27 inch

It doesn't seem like Apple is abandoning larger screens on their computers that run OS X. I don't know about the machines that run Windows, But I don't think they would leave the large screen market to Apple.

There are lots of form factors for computers all-in-ones are just one of them.

for this message i'm using a netbook with a 9 inch screen most of my editing is done on a 19inch screen, sometimes with the netbook attached :) Wireless displays are up and coming, with devices like the google chrome cast anything with a hdmi port is a possible screen.

Between my wife and I we have a Windows desktop, two Windows laptops, two iPads, an Android tablet, a Chromebook, two iPhones, and two Android phones.
I use the desktop to edit photos and have the external hard drives hooked up to that for image storage.
All the other devices we just use for looking at stuff.

They won't be going anywhere while we're alive.

Last week I got my 15 MBP with LG 34" 21:9 ultra wide screen display. It should serve me well for the couple of years.

We went to a large retailer yesterday so my husband could look for a new laptop. Samsung isn't making them any more and we couldn't find much in the way of laptops at all. The sales person said they were not as many available as there were a year ago.

They are not going anywhere soon but even if they did smart TV would take up the slack. Just plug in your tablet with a usb cable and you have a screen of almost any size for photo viewing or PP
