Is there a software to correct photos taken in raw besides Adobe?. My other question is I am going to be taking up photography to do weddings. Any suggestions on what kind of camera, lenses and flash I should buy.
Any suggestions would be extrealy helpful

To everyone that has decided Henry and Sinatra were too harsh. Please read the original post. This person didn't say someone asked to do their wedding. They didn't say they were looking to help out a friend that can't afford a pro. They said "I am going to be taking up photography to do weddings." I'm sorry, but that sounds like someone that wants to make money taking pictures. Now far be for me to say someone can't make money and this person might be a great photographer once they learn some skills. And maybe this person is planning on taking classes before they jump into doing it for a living. I don't know. But from their post, it sounds like Henry and Sinatra were well within their rights to be a little harsh. Better they hear it here than in the courtroom when a client sues. Or worse. What if this person has the potential to be great, but because of their own impatience, they end up ruining their own reputation before they even get started.

This last weekend I did the majority of the photography at my sister's wedding. She knew going in that I'm not a pro and that there's a good chance she will only get a couple of really good shots out of the hundreds I took. I didn't do it to make money. I did it because otherwise she would have had no photos at all and even though she put no expectations on me, I was a nervous wreck. I was so worried that I would do a bad job that I was completely exhausted by the end of it and wasn't able to enjoy myself at all. I only hope when I have downloaded and gone though all the shots, it will have been worth it.

Something to remember VCheriyan, you are responsible for the capturing one of the most important moments in two peoples lives. I personally find that a little daunting.

My first wedding was when my neighbor came to me and asked me to shoot his daughters wedding. He knew I was into photography and said the the photographer he originally hired bailed out on him. The couple also wanted engagement photos so I agreed to do the shoot at three locations for him. First location was at a local park for engagement shots then the backyard wedding location and the third was at the reception at a down town San Diego location. Since this was my first wedding I went a week early with all my equipment to the backyard location and scouted the location. Since it was going to be a 3:00 Mid Summer wedding the Sun was going to be a factor so I took many test shots at various angle and discovered that the shadows being cast by the trees were going to be a big problem and had to have more fill flash to correct for this and my on camera flash was not going to cut it. So to compensate I set up a studio flash with umbrella back and to the shadow side of the alter and that did the trick filing in the strong shadows. I guess what I'm saying is scout your location wether its inside or out and prepare as much as possible. My preparations paid off as the couple had me do there baby pictures also. I expect that I will be doing more for them in the future also. Everyones got to start somewhere just like I did. Good luck.

I helped my friend do a few weddings, just holding the second flash, ( I do other types of photography ) when you say stress, you aren't kidding, just try to get 10 or 15 drunks to do what you ask them..Then the bride sees the pics later and says they stink. You want to rip your hair out after awhile..
