Very nice photos to say the least, I have a question though. Does it damage the sensor taking shots of the sun?

Thanks and no I have never had any damage done taking direct pictures of the sun. I did have a filter on in most of the pictures because the snow was so bright.

Shooting the sun will not damage sensors.
I heard this rumor some years ago. The sensor will not suffer even if you shoot the sun withn a 400mm telephoto, it will simply over expose ( unless you stop down the lens)

Uh, hmm..... The airport at Talkeetna is hardly an International Airport. Runway strip is under 4000 feet in length and there is no control tower. :) Beautiful downtown Talkeetna can be walked in five minutes. Really nothing there; population less than 1000. Town relies solely on tourists. It is also the starting point for climbers flying out to climb Mt. Denali/McKinley. The Bluegrass Festival brings in a lot of tourists.

Beautiful pictures. Wife & I visited Talkeetna in June '06 as part of our 2 week trip.
Mostly I remember the river and forget-me-nots growning wild. Oh yeah, we mailed home a post card from there. We do that at almost every town we visit. Helps to remember places and dates.
