count me in the jealous club. Congrats on the job.
Hi...I also work for a sort of museum taking photos for archiving purposes. I use a hand-held Nikon (an old D60) and we send out the files to Shutterfly after we rename the files to our access code. I use a black velvet background for most of the objects unless they are black, then I use a white background. I am not a pro so I just shoot Manual and adjust the aperture according to how light or dark the object is. Most objects are about 6 inches in width. Do you number the actual items with ink---I use black or white ink. Would be interested in your work. We used to lacquer the numbers but had trouble dissolving the ink with the lacquer.

Or one of a new breed rather. I'm only 24 and have printing in the darkroom for five years. There has been an increase in interest among many in my generation despite the smartphone crap.
