If I choose to buy lightroom 4 will I have a hard time tagging the photos or will l/r locate the existing tags in elements? I have thousands of photos and elements is having a hard time finding them sometimes. The reconnect feature does not work well.
Anyone have any experiance with this?

I use both Elements & Lightroom. Once you tag the photos (in either program) the other program will recognize the tags attached to the photos.

You may need to "reconnect" folders in Lightroom if you have moved photos in Elements or any method other than through LR.

I joined NAPP to get help from the Pros. Scott Kelby and his crew are great. I joined this year as I purchased Lightroom in the fall and found it hard to learn, but now I am learning to really like it. You get discounts to books and Learning DVD's. I have been doing most of my learning online. Good Luck to you.

I too like Scott Kelby's books:

http://www.amazon.com/Photoshop-Lightroom-Digital-Photographers-Voices/dp/0321700910/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331141445&sr=8-1

Excellent! $30.24 from Amazon (reg. $54.99)

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 "Classroom in a book" Tried others including Scott's and this was the easiest for me to follow. More like a text book and the step by steps really worked!!

I think so. It still takes some time if you are doing a lot of photos (I recently moved ALL of my photos from one hard drive to another - over 65,000 - and it took a couple of hours.

First off, I hope this is the place to ask questions , if not pls direct me Thnx!
I am dealing with Lightroom 6 and Adobe Photo Element 2020. Step 1...I download my pictures into lightroom and than go thru them and if there is extensive editing....like getting rid of shadows or background etc. I do that in Elements. My question is How do I return the edited version to Lightroom. Can this be done, if so pls give me direction.

This thread is 10-years old. No, this is not the best place to ask a new question. Rather, open a new thread with your new question in the Main Photography section. In the 10-years since this thread died, a dedicated post-processing section has been added, that might be even better for responses than the Main section.
