I have a limited budget and am trying to find a good all around lens. I saw a lens from borrow my lens for sale. Has anyone ever done this?

ME, I have looked at the lenses and bodies of all the rental places, and they always seem way overpriced to me, especially for what they have been through, and not to mention that they have been completely depreciated and written off as a business expense.
If they were really cheap, maybe, but they aren't!
Just saying. Good luck. ;-)

If you are looking for a used or refurbished lens I would suggest you try either the Canon store or a reputable retailer such as B&H or Adorama first. They all have a good selection of lenses available, as a rule.
What lens do you have now? My first DSLR was a T3i and I found that the EF-S 18-55 and EF-S 55-250 were a nice pair of lenses, and reasonably priced.
I got very lucky one day and went to a pawn shop and bought a18-55mm ef, but did not have stabilization, for $55. They want $75 for it. They offered a 30 day return so I was covered.
Olc
It did come with my camera. I'd like something like the 18-200.

One disadvantage of a lens that covers a wide focal range, such as an 18-200 compared to an 18-55 is that image quality can suffer. That's not carved in stone so the point I want to make is that you need to thoroughly research any lens you intend to buy before spending your hard earned money. There is a lot of info to be found on this site, as well as photos taken with all the lenses that are reviewed:

A good all around lenses for that model would be the Canon 18-200mm, IS or even the 18-135. I have the Canon models that I have mounted on my 60D and I also carry a refurbished 24-105 'L' with my 70D. I had a Tamron 18-270 which was very good, but that was sold so I could buy the 'L' lens.
I have a Canon T3i with several lenses. The one I put on the camera most when I know I'm going to be taking shots of opportunity at any range is a Sigma 18-250mm f3.5-6.3 DC MACRO OS HSM that I purchased last year on eBay for under $300, including a UV filter. It looks and works like new. The equivalent zoom range on the T3i is 29-400mm which works for me for just about anything I encounter.
Sigma has a newer lens with even a wider zoom range making this one a previous generation, thus less expensive, but it has everything I need for a walk-around lens including image stabilization (OS) and a relatively large aperture. As for image quality, I've never found it to be lacking, but I realize that I am not as knowledgeable or demanding as some of our UHH brethren.
If you decide to go shopping for a second-hand lens like this, be careful of the actual configuration. I initially bought one where the price was fantastic for this lens with OS, which the description said it had, but it didn't. I was able to return it and relearned the lesson about if it's too good to be true, ....
Good luck!
