Did not look like a 1957 or a 1959. Makes it one of my favorites. Saw this car at Earl Park Fall Festival in Indiana in 2010.

AHH, those were the days. I remember them well. A great shot of a classic. My brother had one he called, "The Black Beauty"; black body, black interior and black convertible top.

My first car was a new '58 Impala, solid black/black interior, but did not have the red stripe. I don't think that was a factory option. The cost of the car (again, brand new) was less than $3000. The standard V-8 at that time was the 348 c.i., also a new introduction, but I ordered it with the 283 c.i. instead. Standard shift, no ac, positraction rear end. I soon added Hedman headers and straight pipe mufflers. Sounded great. Yep, a hot car. Unfortunately, the few pics I had of it have long since been lost. But it stays in my dreams to this day.

My favorite car of all time, my 58 Impala convertible black with a white top. Had a 348, with 3speed.. I got it the year we got married. Man I loved that car and would love to have it right now.

Great pic!

After the 57, I remember that the 58 was quite a shock. Looking back, however, 55-58 were great years for Chevy. Other than the great 57, the 56 was really a cool car.

yes it is a 348 but I don't think they called it tri power. I think that was a Pontiac thing. Yes it is equipped with 3 deuces though for sure.

'58 Impalas were one of Chevrolet's all time greatest achievements. I have to include the '55 Chevy 2-door hart-top, the '58 thru '62 Corvettes, and the later '70's Nova two-door fast back.
Of course the '64 Chevy Impala SS 2-door hart-top. And I'm NOT a Chevy person.

The 58 Chevy Impala is my favorite Chevy for several reasons:
1. No other Chevy looked like it inside or out.
2. First year of the Impala.
3. I believe it is also the 1st year for the slow revving 348 CI engine.
