Here is a picture shot hand held F 5.7 -1/200sec at a 144mm focual length or 35mm focual length 810mm.
The duck had just come up out of the water and water beads are on it's beak. I had image stab. on.
Before I disclose what kind of camera and lense please comment on the sharpness. Then comment if you think the second picture with PP is prefered.

1st picture is much better second looks doctored

Like the first photo colors are better and the photo in my eyes appears sharper

there is no real difference between the two as far as sharpness goes.
Pic 2 is pic 1 with more contrast - contrast increases the apparent sharpness of an image - keyword: Apparent

Looks sharp to me....and I prefer the first one over the PP

My comment is that the colors need a little more saturation and more contrast.

The camera is a Nikon P-500 shot at 36X or 810mm

I for one prefer the first picture! It does look sharper to me. Looks like a good lens was used.

I like the first one better. Colors look better and I can see more water droplets on the duck.

No question, the first image is better on all fronts. Clearly the money shot!
