Why are you SCREAMING?
Common courtesy on the web is to use lower case letters.
Hi Roy, I've not been here too long myself and unfortunately I am unable to help you with your problem as I don't really know much about tripods. However I find it strange that you have posted this I think 4 times and not had an answer, it's not like the people on here to ignore new members. What I will say is that when you print in capital letters it is considered to be as if you are shouting, do you know what I mean. On the other hand some people cannot help but use capitals and if that is the case let them now.
I hope that you get an answer to your question and welcome to the Hog.
fluid panheads, were designed for video cameras.

Even though you could not help the OP, your answer was well formulated and respectful. Well done.
$200 is kind of on the low side for a quality tripod rig but I've had pretty good experience with Benro tripods and Promaster heads. You'll probably end up closer to $300 but it makes a pretty decent rig. There is another current post called "Tripods advice" that will give you some more information.
Roy, Please turn off you cap key. It is considered shouting in netspeak, but also, and to me even more important, difficult to read.
OK, tripod. Your camera weighs 1 3/4 lbs.
A 300 mm lens, depending on which one, is 6 1/4 or just over 3 lbs.
Going with the heavier one, you are looking at a total weight of 8 lbs. If you use an on-camera external flash, add that weight as well. Say 10 lbs total. That means that your tripod and your panhead each have to be able to support at least 20 lbs (the recommended support is double of what you actually put on the tripod).
I did not do a thorough search of the internet, but off-the-cuff suggestion would be to save your pennies and nickels for a while longer.
I'm not sure that you can buy a tripod with head to support your camera and lens for $200.
BTW, you change your "hiding place" by clicking on "My Profile" in the menu on the top of this page.

I wanted a good tripod for video, and I got a Vanguard Tracker 4. Although there isn't any fluid in the head, it is as smooth as a real fluid head. There is no downside to using a fluid head for still photography - unless you like the head to move in fits and starts. Unfortunately, it looks like the Tracker 4 has been discontinued, but there are many that feature a "fluid head."
Good article -

fluid heads were designed for video cameras. cheaper way to get the same reaction is put head handle through a good rubber band, then a finger through other an steady pull for panning.
I use a Vanguard Alta Pro for a similar camera lens setup. It works very well. CHeck them out. Oh, there is no need to shout, we heard you the first time.
Did not know using caps was screaming sorry about that.

THAT's OKAY !! :D
It was very respectful screaming.
Buy used. Good tripods are not like cameras, no electronics, they last a long, long time. You can find a lot on Craigslist in local metro areas and you can try them before you buy. I have a Bogen Manfrotto combo much like you asked for, sturdy as a tank, cost me $100.
Roy asked a question. Why it cannot be answered without him being criticized for using capitals (by Roy and Morning Star) I do not know. I feel sorry that he is made to feel bad about something so trivial. I have now fallen into the same trap of wasting everyone's time and not answering his question.
