I saw some photos taken with the lens in Yellowstone by Ian Plant and they looked great. I wish it was faster but It would then cost more. I am thinking about to decrease my load when traveling.

B&H sent me a message that I could pre order for $1,069, but no delivery
Date was given.. I did not order yet, thinking serious about it.. I have the Tamron 200-500 , I use it for birding and shooting the moon.

BTW, it was on Amazon briefly for $989 or thereabouts. Only one left when I saw it, but now the link is dead. B&H I've used from the 80's, so I'd not hesitate to pre-order with them.

Adorama has it too for the same as B&H, but they have an "add to cart" and don't say pre-order. Try it?

Be interesting to see what the European price is like-usually a lot higher. In £s the US price looks like around £620, Australian £754
Expect they will be pricing against the Sigma 150-500
May be worthwhile getting on a plane!

In theory it should be around £620 but from experience we will be screwed as usual and the price will be about the same numeric but with a £ sign instead of the $. :-(

All the focusing issues with an F6.3 will be there - no matter how good the glass MIGHT be, AND, you better have a good monopod or tripod ready !

Will someone give me (note: give me, not lend me) $1069 so I can buy this lens? What? No takers (or givers)? Why so silent?

The Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 has been made available in the USA but not in Europe yet. Has anyone in the USA bought one and, if so, what do you think of it?
