The Tuxie is "Kitty"..............a rescue. My sister asked me if I knew of anyone that would want a nice cat.........black and white, spayed female, declawed, about 7 years old. One of her clients was moving in with her "boyfriend" and said "get rid of the cat or I will shoot it". Kitty loves me; I saved her life. We've had her for 4 years.

The tan mush-pot is Pip. I don't know who or what he was in his previous life, but I KNOW he is more than a cat. He came from the shelter and I have no idea why he was there for 6 months before we adopted him. Maybe he was waiting for us. He's allowed us to live with him for 10 years.

Couldn't resist putting in "Carl"............from the TV insurance commercial...........LOL I took that when we were in Africa in March. I did store the original if you'd care to critique it. It enlarged beautifully.

A superb study of the intelligent look of that cat?

Why, in the World, do we have conspiracy theories posted on this site ?

The current administration has made huge reductions in our debt and that was before the draconian spending cuts.

The foolish woman should have dumped the boyfriend, not the cat.

His cruelty will manifest itself in abuse of that stupid woman.

She deserves to be abused for allowing that s--t to dominate her.

Maybe, she is into subservience .

I think she really did love "Kitty", because when she left after dropping her off with me she was crying. I told my sis that I hope she realized that *if* the relationship went south, she was NOT getting Kitty back. She said to me "well, he DID let me keep my dog". I asked sis if they guy would have shot her and she said yes. Oh, yeah, the relationship DID go south. And I still have Kitty and she still loves me.

Stuff your right wing propaganda and half truths. Your question of the day belongs on FOX. news.

This is about photography not a T party rally.

We have enough in common and must leave politics for another time and place.

I'm starting to do some pet photography in my area. My concern is which lens to use. I have a 50mm 1.8 but I see most photographers use an 85mm for portrait work. I shoot with a canon 60D which has a 1.6 crop factor. Could I get some advice a to which lens to use?

Thank you
Pappy

Pet photography is no different (in regards to lenses) than any other type of photography; you choose a lens based on the "effect" you want to get; compression or decompression of foreground and background objects, distance to subject, how much of the background to include in the shot, how distorted you want the image to seem, how much background you want to blur....there is no "one size fits all" solution.

Here 3 examples of different effects that I used a specific focal length to achieve:

1.) Ultra wide..distorted funny look - 14mm

2.) Normal look close up - 50mm

3.) Flattened look 15 ft away - 135mm

What effect are you going for in your pet images...can you post an example of what you think you'd like to achieve?

What is your problem? I certainly don't see anything political being posted except for you. Who are you responding to?

Oh and I agree, this post is no place for politics even though I could shred your comment about this administration and the debt.
