Is there a real difference between the sony dsc-hx20v and the dsc-hx50v. They have the same lens and the only difference is the wifi. I am only interested photographic quality. Please advise.

The Cybershot DSC-HX20V is an amazing handful of camera. I also, own an NEX6.
I "throw" the little camera in my pocket, when I don't want the larger camera with the changeable lenses.
You will have to try to take a bad shot with the little camera, if you are so inclined ;-).
One suggestion is that you buy a screen saver for the LCD. I put a few scratches in my screen, before I got the saver.
The two automatic settings are very good, but the other shooting modes make the Cybershot much more than a point and shoot.

I have the Sony HX5V and have not seen a need to upgrade. This line of cameras is great for P&S cameras.

Than you very much. I do like the camera. I am disappointed that note one of the reviews recognize the optical quality.

You are happy and that is what is important.

Dry your tears and enjoy that great little camera.

I'm new today. I lost my sony cyber shot H10 many months ago, so I bought a "brand new" one last month 'cause it is probably the best point & shoot i ever had, even if it is years old. It prints an 8 1/2 x 11 very beautiful on my printer. (the drawback is no zoom on video mode). I'm a happy 82er also.

I'm new today. I am interested in taking HD video's along with still photo's. Saw both the Sony HX400v and the Cannon SX50HS. Has anyone looked at these? Any help would be appreciated

Welcome to UHH and I hope you enjoy yourself on this forum. There are lots of friendly and helpful folks here. I'm afraid that I'm the only one here shooting with the HX300 (predecessor to the HX400v). Your more than welcome to view my photos. Most of my recent topics have been shot with the 300. To do so...click on my name by my avatar photo (it should be in blue), then click on the list of topics for the ones I've posted. The HX300 and now 400 shoot in HD. The video is stabilized (in camera) so you don't get jerky video. Zoom is available during video recording, but is limited to the 50x zoom range. Sony also put in a nice speed damper which keeps your zooms very smooth. You can capture stills while recording video as well. Now, there's about 200 or more SX50 users on here, so I'm sure you'll be hearing from them. Oh, and the Sony only shoots in JPEG while the Canon does both JPEG and RAW. Good luck and have a good time here. I look forward to seeing some of your work.
