Welcome the "UHH" Wanda. I do not have any experience with the D7000 but I purchased a D7100 back in March. Not much more than the D7000, about $300 - $400. I was looking at the D7000 also. After a lot of research and assistance from fellow Hog members decided on the D7100. No regrets, love the camera.
