Hello Hoggers,
I'd appreciate some help converting this colour shot to B&W. Everything was against me at the party venue where I shot this photo - tungsten lighting, bright pink spotlights everywhere and no windows. I don't like the colour pic and my attempt at B&W doesn't pop the way I'd like it to. If anyone can help me, that would be wonderful.

That's weird, I actually saw the photos uploaded. I've added new attachments.

I don't know if this was what you were looking for, but is up to you to keep it or not

I think the color version can be rescued, but here is my attempt at B&W.

Here's my shot at the color version. I lowered the values for purple in Lightroom.

Thanks hlmichel, you got the separation in the two shades of pink in the cake! What would you do with the colour version?

I would try doing the B&W conversions through different coloured filters and seeing which you like the most ...purple filter, green filter, red filter, blue filter..... green might be best.
I do not mean to tint the images that colour, still b&w images but different coloured filters will give different tones to the colours present.
I hope you understand what i mean because I haven't explained it all that well.

I think I know what you mean but I haven't had any experience handling B&W through filters. I usually use Topaz or Nik B&W conversion software.

If you click on it you will go to Flickr and you down load it in full resolution. Just right click on the image and select Original and then right click again ans select Save Image As and you can put it anywhere on your computer. I will give you a selenium version in a few minutes.
