This walking park area in Dana Point is along the cliff edge and offers some remarkable photo opportunities, especially in HDR.

Thank you Photog8. I think the HDR really helps these images out a lot.

Very nicely done.

Not "over cooked" as too many HDR practitioners tend to do.

Thanks infocus, I'm having a blast shooting anything and everything. Today I'm off shooting the huge waves that we are having. Check back later at the "sports" section here on UHH. I have photos now from yesterday posted there.

rmalarz, I agree with you 100%. To many people do over cook em and it's annoying! My goal is to pop the photos and have kind of an illustrator type quality about them.

These are beautiful shots, demonstrating what I think HDR should be. My personal opinion is that too much HDR is almost cartoonish in its intensity... much like picture postcard photography of the 1930/1940's. Sometimes the cartoon/ surreal effect is desired, but I nearly always prefer the level you have demonstrated. Thanks, Mercer

Mercer, I AGREE WITH YOU 100%. No over cooking here! And like you said, sometimes the cartoon surreal effect is desired but for me that is very very rare.
