Just off I-40 in Cumberland County, Tennessee is Ozone Falls plunges 110 feet over a sandstone cap into a deep, rock strewn pool. It was the sight for filming several scenes for the Movie version of Jungle Book. The last 3 photos were taken with my husband holding my feet and I lay on my stomach looking over the top edge of the falls. If you look closely you can see a man walking on the rocks 110 feet below.

I like your composition on the first one. The s-curve that the river makes at the bottom of the falls is quite attractive. Normally I like slower shutter speeds to blur the water, but in this case the faster shutter speed captures a sense of the motion of this impressive waterfall for me. I would like to see it with a little more punch, but didn't want to mess with it without your permission.

As for the last three, that is quite a view. It is obvious you trust your husband, and I am glad he loves you. Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful falls, I love waterfalls and ya'll have some nice ones in Tennessee as we do here in Arkansas. My lady's dad has a book listing all of the waterfalls in AR. and he is gonna let me borrow it, then I intend to get them all.

Well, DB, this is the first time I've ever tried to edit someone else's image, and for me it is a scary thing as I don't know what your vision for this image was when you first captured it. I like texture, and the rocks intrigued me, so I tried to bring that out a little as well as lighten up the darker areas without changing the mood of the image too much. It also appeared slightly cool, so I adjusted the white balance slightly. I used Lightroom 3 for these edits. I'm used to working on RAW files, and a low-resolution jpeg is a lot less forgiving. Editing and saving as a jpeg again doesn't help image quality either. I hope this is an improvement while still staying in line with your original vision. If not, it won't hurt my feelings.

Thanks, I like ur adjustments. The photo was taken several years ago with a Kodak Z710 point and shoot. I had not done any adjustments to it. I work mainly with Photoshop now, I have lightroom 2 but am not too fond of it. I guess I've just not taken the time to play with it enough. I'll have to force myself to try it more often. Thanks for showing me what you saw in the photo. Thats what its all about, as no two people view a photo in the same manner.

Thank you for your gracious answer. I wasn't convinced it was much of an improvement and almost deleted it as soon as I uploaded it as I wasn't happy with how it looked after being compressed again. I decided that I was already commited and would leave it.

I have Photoshop CS5 as well, and before I got Lightroom 2 a couple years ago, was learning to use CS3 for my processing. Once I started using Lightroom, I pretty much stopped using Photoshop except to run plug-ins like Noiseware (my main noise reduction program) and OnOne Software and for the few things I can't do in Lightroom. If you are comfortable using Photoshop and know how to do everything you need, then maybe Lightroom wouldn't be as much benefit. I find that it is quicker and easier for most of my editing needs.

I meant to congratulate you on 37 years of marriage. That is getting less common all the time. You have about 10 years on my wife and I, but I understand what you mean about trust.
