Low light shots are a real challenge for me. Out of about 25 shots only a few were decent. Felt like I squandered a great opportunity.

I reckon they're pretty good shots, especially No.1, you nailed it...

Beautiful plumage and you caught the colors well. Had to be difficult, I think you have excellent shots.

Thanks, if you take enough shots you are bound to get at least one good one.

Thanks, if it was easy it probably wouldn't be fun.

I don't see anything you missed from these shots.

They look ok , or was your iso so high that you cant crop and blow them up to pic on wall size without showing to much grain , noise ?

Thanks for looking. You're right, the iso was pretty high.

They don't look too bad small, what was the ISO though because there is a fair bit of noise and digital artifacts.

Oh and I believe these are juvenile night herons not american bitterns.

ISO was 1600. I will defer to your expertise as to whether they are juvenile night herons or bitterns. I am a rank amateur rookie. Bitterns was the closest I could find in my books.
