You can vote as many times as you like, but only have one voting point.
If you vote for multiple photos, your voting point gets divided across them all.
While on a recent photo excursion, I visited a local train trestle; known locally as The Big Four Arch, built around 1906. It has several arched concrete pillars and, as I focused on taking the photo, I heard the rumbling of an oncoming train. As it passed over, the graffiti on the train and the trestle all mingled to become one picture, as colorful as the folklore that surrounds the trestle.

An interview with Simplesimon,
1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
Began at Junior school in 1950s processing and enlarging B&W from Brownie Box cameras. Still very amateur, went through 35mm slides, then colour prints and on into digital
2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
No formal training, but use it as a hobby in retirement. Splashed out on Lightroom, Aperture, Photoshop, Photomatix, Topaz Adjust & Nic Colour effects, plus 27' Imac.
At present interested in HDR for churches, cathedrals, disused buildings, urbex etc. (Try not to over-cook the HDR though)
3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
Running round old pre-WW1 underground/overground coastal gunnery fortifications. It was the coloured graffiti reflected in the puddle which caught my eye
4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
Panasonic G5 tripod mounted, 7-14mm lens 3 exp for HDR
2 copies processed in Photomatix- one colour the other B&W. Take both copies into Photoshop and brush the colour selectively onto the B&W version
5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
Yes, increase the contrast on the B&W version
6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
In retirement? Yes - curl up and die. (FYI, I find M43rds equip much lighter to carry when running around with my much younger colleagues who can move like mountain goats or 'rats up drain pipes'.)
7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
Flickr - ssimple44
An interview with Severums
1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
30 years, but only seriously in the last 5; my first SLR was a canon AE1 which really got me hooked.
2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
I have had no formal training, I take mostly Landscape but also enjoy old architecture both inside & out.
3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
We had spent the day exploring the castle (Arundel) and this shot just begged to be taken and then converted to B & W.
4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
Taken with my (now sold) Nikon D700, Nikon 17-35 F/2.8 @ 17mm, ISO 200 @ f/8.
5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
No, nothing.
6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
I really do not know.
7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
Not at present.
