This is taken with the new Sony? It certainly does not like for fine detail!! What is it (not the flower, the camera)?

You know, the different between "professional" and point and shoot is getting razor thin. Clearly there's a whole new generation of non interchangeable lens cameras coming out that are of sufficient quality that I can't see why they cannot substitute for an entire rig!

Exactly the correct thoughts. It took me 10 years of bad upgrading on my Canon systems. Started out with the wrong camera body and then never tried hard enough to get the correct lens. After 10 years of hard health, I decided to change. You are so correct about the mix and features of the advanced P/S. This Sony will optical zoom to 800+mm. we never came close to that with our Canon lenses. I will admit though, I still miss the interchangable lenses like you Pentax, but with each new learning, I think the sony will be OK. Put us with our cameras back on the
'Marginal Way' in Olgunquit, Maine and I will let you know right after a supreme meal of Lobster Bisque.

I'm going to give the Canon to my granddaughter, keep my Olympus and get the Sony as a second (or maybe first!) camera. I LOVE Ogunquit by the way. One of my favorite places in New England.

The HX-100V is my second Sony superzoom. The only problem I can find with the camera is that I can't find out in the manual or CD how to disable the instant review. Can anyone help me? Other than that problem, this is a fine camera, one tick away from a DSLR.

I see waht you are talking about now. The picture just taken displays for about 2 seconds and then your ready for the next shot. Do not think that can be taken away. Let's Photog know and see quick pic to know if shot needs to be taken over?

It's in the manual under Setup or Tools , whatever Nikon calls it - I turned mine off on the SX30iS the first day - other people with P&S think I'm crazy, but unless it's the moon, or something equally slow-moving, there is too much going on! Take a bunch & check 'em out later!
