Any comments from you people in England about the Focus on Imaging show in Birmingham? Karl Taylor sent me an email about it, but I think I'm busy that week.

Hey Jerry,

Been for the last 2 years, going again they year (Sunday), usually very busy, but also very informative.
If you are after something in particular, like me (New Legs), then a really great place to get a hands on different products to help you make your mind up.

Also a great place for inspiration o how to spend your hard earned ££££££.
One BIG tip, take your plastic Yuk, but you will probably use it often.

If you can manage it, go.

Do they offer free day passes? For years, I've been getting free passes to the photo show in NYC, but I still haven't gone to it.

Jerry,

I am not aware of free passes, If you pre register it is £8:00, on the day it is £10:00, plus a loooooong queue for registration. You may think it's a little late in the day for registering and getting your pass sent to you, you are probably right on that point, but, you E-Mail acknowledgement of payment works also. Either way though it's not a bank breaker.
If you manage to get there, post back and let us know if you enjoyed it.
Take some food and drink with you, the food inside the hall is dreadful and expensive, you can almost buy a tilt shift for the cost of a sandwich and drink (Joke by the way, but you get the idea). You can enter and leave the hall all day with your pass, so you can leave food in the car if you don't want to lug it around with you.

Hi Jerry, they only offer day passes to 'pro' photographers, otherwise it is £8 to register, or £10 pounds on the day, (plus another £10 if you have a car to park), but well worth it especially if you intend to buy equipment because of the savings you can make. I'll be there on Sunday this year, normally go Mon/Tues but have to work this year.

Free passes are available for those in the photo industry but you need to provide proof that you area a professional.

That's another reason for me to miss the show, in addition to the plane fare.
