My wife's iPhone 4 bit the dust (won't turn on) and we need to recover photos that weren't backed up on the cloud. We've tried a number of things of which none have worked. We are open to sending the phone to a recovery company, we just don't know which one to trust. Any suggestions from my UHH family would be greatly appreciated.

A friend just had the same thing happen in that she lost everything on her iPhone. I suggested she take it to an Apple Store. She did and they were able to recover everything. That would be my suggestion.

We did that initially and had no luck but that was several years ago so I don't know if I would get the same results but it's certainly worth a second try.

The Apple store said that because they couldn't get the phone to come on, they would not be able to help.

Will it not turn on due to a deceased battery? If so, changing the battery in an iPhone isn’t that hard (there are kits in the $20-30 range) and videos on UTube of the process. Just don’t puncture the old battery when removing it, even if it is discharged. I’m surprised it didn’t Automatically back up to ICloud (unless you ran out of free storage and didn’t purchase more)
