How many of you do what I do? I come downstairs in the morning, turn on the computer, make coffee, and spend several hours on UHH and other sites. Years ago, I would come downstairs and actually do things. I have seventy-eight items on my To Do List, but here I am at the computer. I found that this is more enjoyable than cleaning the house, mowing the lawn, or bringing garbage to the dump.

It's taken me a while, but I've figured out a way to justify this. "You only go around once in life." Do I want to spend it doing what I want or doing chores? The answer is obvious. The house is clean enough, no one has complained about my lawn, and the garbage situation is under control.

Now, back to my various websites.

You hit the proverbial nail on the head Jerry. It is a description of my typical morning exactly.
The only additional things I do is turn on some background music and review/edit photos I may have taken the day before. I used to feel guilty about "wasting" time. One of the reasons I worked my buns off for so many years was to allow this free time now.
PS- I think my lawn looks great. Don't want to spoil it with too frequent mowing :-)

Yup, similar situation....
I've become adept at procrastination......

But then, I've been a programmer for 50 years, I really like computers.

Coffee and the Hog first then I decide what's next.

I play loads of golf as do many of my friends in their late 70’s (at least fifteen miles a week). We all say this keeps us fit and as a proportion of the elderly we live longer than most.
Although I have no problems with the time I spend accessing stuff on a computer, I would if I felt it reduced my exercise time and impinged on my health and fitness.
Obviously I do understand that some are unable to exercise at all, but I suspect many that are fit enough don’t.

"at least fifteen miles a week" I didn't know they had odometers on golf carts. πŸ˜‚

Yes, exercise is essential. Early humans got exercise just by living. Now, we have a device to change the channel on the TV for us. If people aren't fit enough to do vigorous exercise, they can do isometrics to maintain muscle tone.
