I haven't made a photo book in years, but I'm about to put one together. Do you have any recommendations pro or con. I've used several companies in the past, mainly Adorama. This would be a hard cover book, maybe twenty-four pages.

Saal Digital. Superb quality printing, binding, and fine software for putting your book together.

My wife uses Shutterfly. Their products are exceptional, and if there is a problem (only one time some of the photos went to the edge of the page and were slightly cut off) they replace the book with no issues at all. You should check out for initial offers for new customers. Once you are a regular, they will from time to time offer things like free additional pages, and free shipping. So my wife prepares her photo book on their site and then waits for the special offers. We have gone back many many times, and their products are quality, and durable (as we have some that are from 2014 and the binders are good as new). Happy photo book making!

Is the Lightroom/Blurb choice on the list?

MixBook. I researched about ten online book companies. Thought I was going to use Blurb until I came across MixBook.

I chose MixBook because of the features and ease of use of its software for designing the pages. Was extremely satisfied with the end product I produced. They also run many 50% discounts.

Ditto with Shutterfly. My wife has done several for the Grands. Easy peasy.

I have used Mixbook.com to make 5 or 6 books over the years and was always very pleased with the quality snd speed of service. Hard or soft cover, horizontal or vertical are all possible and while more pages mean more money, I think you can go up to 100 pages.

I use the LR book module which interfaces with Blurb. I have done 4 hard cover books. They also do softcover, etc.

Saal-digital! Remarkable and accurate color reproduction in both their gloss and matte papers.(calibrated monitor) Layflat design. Good desktop software. I got best results using Photoshop to create each page layout, saved as jpeg and inserted into the Saal design software pages. My clients "jaw dropped" at the result. I just want to share a very good experience.

Just had one done by MPIX. 1 week turnaround for a 50page book!
