Just to clarify, Mike, are you looking for a 50mm lens, or a 35mm lens, which, considering the crop factor of 1.5 with the d7000 DX camera, result in 52mm, or approximately a "nifty fifty"?

Nikonusa makes the 35 and the 50 refurbished available at ridiculously cheap prices from time to time. Get on their mailing list to know when their offerings are posted. I purchased a fantastic D5 refurbished for only 1/3 of its original price.

MPB usually has a good selection of these. Be sure to get the US screen if you access them, not the Euro screen.
