I am thinking of buying this lens to upgrade aperture without breaking the bank for a Canon RF mount F/2.8. I have the Canon F/4 24 - 240 & sometimes I wish I had more aperture.I have some questions:
1. With EF to RF adapter will there be any impact to the performance or functionality of the Tamaron?
2. Has anyone used this Lens with an R6?
3. What is your opinion of this lens?
Thanks ππ½

I had the Nikon version for a while. Loved the image output. I think itβs on par with the Nikon 70-200 FL though you might need to Af fine tune it. If you are paring it with a mirrorless body you should be able to skip the Af fine tune part.
Thank you Vince! Yes I am pairing it with the Canon R6 mirrorless.

1. The Canon EF to RF adapter works quite well with the Tamron to Canon mirrorless body.
2. I had the Tamron SP 70-200mm F/2.8 G2 with the R5 but after seeing the Canon version comparison.
3. My own opinion is if you put that much money in the camera why go less in front of it. And that the Canon RF
70-200 F/2.8 is a much better lens even though it is a $3,000.00 lens, I have been amazed every time I use it.
4. And most important is only you can answer the question do you really want the 2.8 over the 4 no one
should tell you how to spend your hard earned money.

Thank you Delta49. You answered an important question for me w/r to compatibility with the EF/RF adapter.
You also verbalized the struggle I am having with regards to price & performance. ππ½ππ½

I have the G2 70-200 Tamron on my Nikon Z9 and also have the Nikon version. I see no difference in performance. If there us it's microseconds not visible for me at least
