Lake Apopka, showing off!
This is the second GBH swallowing a Snake this past weekend at the wildlife drive.
I thought someone was saying we haven't showed enough respect for the show offered.
So here is a more extensive set showing how much difficulty these birds go through to get a good meal down the gullet.
At one point He/She got the Snake most of the way down tail first, then decided that wasn't going to work. Hacked it back up and started over!!
It could be the same bird as the first one I showed. Pretty sure it's not the same Snake!

I wonder how the snake felt being eaten alive? Maybe we should call PETA and report the GBH for animal abuse.
Great shots!

Thank you, Cliff! I always wonder about that when I get these kinds of photos. Nature...wild and wonderful, but not always for the participants!

Great sharp action shots. That is something to see 2 different GBHs doing that.
Well done. Thanks for sharing

I'm thinking about all the videos we see about tigers in Africa catching deer, antelope, etc. and eating them. We always root for the poor victims, but that's the way of nature. It's a good thing that that wasn't a poisonous snake!

Excellent documentary images! I can’t help but wonder what kind of havoc sensations that snake is going to wreak in that bird’s stomach before it succumbs.
