Cloud Sync with Lightroom Cloud

It seems to me that most posters in this forum just see Lightroom/Photoshop primarily as an editor when it is so much more than that. Adobe has created a entire Photographic eco system around their platform. I am posting this primarily for those that already have a LR subscription or those considering it, not to convince anyone to switch to LR. If all you are interested in is just doing simple edits, then this is over kill The tutorial I am linking to talks about integrating the Lightroom Cloud based apps and programs with Lightroom Classic. The idea is to have the best of both worlds. There is a learning curb but it is not terrible.

If you use the Lightroom Cloud then it is easy to share on the go. Have images backed up when traveling, or even automatically download pictures from your phone right to you computer, automatically. You can also edit on the go using the Lightroom app on your phone or even use the Lightroom Camera, which shoots in raw.

This video was produced by B&H, so you can find it on their website, which is a great resource for all sorts of information, all for free. One important thing that is not mentioned in the video is that as long as you do not upload actual files to the Lightroom Cloud, they do not count against your 20gbs or 1 TB of storage, depending on your plan. Any pictures that you store locally and upload as a collection are free.

I am an unabashed fan of the eco system and usually fail when I try to explain how it works.

There is no concise way of explaining the entire eco system. It is vast and needs to be learned in sections, otherwise it is overwhelming. I do not use it to its full potential

I have not finished watching the entire video but learning You can have pictures taken on your phone copied to your desktop using the sync system is very interesting. I will definitely finish watching. It is very interesting yet almost overwhelming.

I have my phone and computer set up that way. It works well. I causes me to treat my phone more seriously as one of my cameras.
