Our temperatures should improve next week when the wind swings round to the south. xx

BC is supposed to have a wet Spring and a dry, hot Summer this year. Not looking forward to that. DD1 gave me a fairly new portable AC recently, wasn't enough room on her boat. xoxo

Our's also come a day late if there is a holiday on Monday, but there was a holiday on Friday AND Monday and our workers don't work on weekends because they would exceed their allowable work hours per week. So this week there was no change to the pickup schedule and the crews working on Monday got statutory holiday pay.

Holidays are great when you are in school, but now they seem like a PITA, you always seem to need services on long weekends. xoxo

Good morning from Port Hope Ontario Canada. It is 7:11 am EST and 9'C (48'F) going up to 25'C (77'F). People were wearing shorts again yesterday. So many plants are popping up, I hope the nighttime temperatures don't go below freezing next week.
Mum's cataract surgery did not go so well yesterday. They had a shortage of nurses so they had to pull in nurses from other areas. I heard one nurse complaining that "I'm not supposed to work in this clinic". All the surgeries were postponed until they had they had enough staff. There was a miscommunication and mum didn't get as many drops in her eye as she did last time and that caused her eye to be dry when the doctor tried to insert the replacement lens. In the process he hit a blood vessel and there was blood everywhere. They tried to rinse it off, but she was quite a sight when they brought her back to the waiting room. The next lady who was scheduled to go in, was very concerned. We just got back home in time for me to get to my home work desk. Mum's eye remained swollen and red for the rest of the day and she went to bed early. Stuart is taking her in to see the doctor this morning for a follow-up.
Work was busy. The students are all coming back. We also had a virtual meeting about a "new" program called mentorship! They are going to be pairing a senior worker with a new worker. We used to have week-long orientation sessions for new workers, but those were discontinued during the pandemic. This new program is one and one and supposed to be better for everyone's schedule. I see it as asking the current employees to do more with the same time. Things have changed so much in the building, I feel like I need orientation to the "new way" of doing things.
Knit Night had the usual people. I think the rest were out enjoying the lovely weather. Almost all of them continued the night at the local restaurant, but I came home and had beef soup. If I had known that was on the menu, I would have gone to the restaurant too. The soup was tasty, but not very filling. Oh, well. I started another sock because I was at the heel turn of my first sock and I didnt' want to do that at Knit Night. The owner had her LYS KAL project on display and I am in love with her colours. I asked if she was going to dye more of those colours and she said yes, so I said I'll be waiting for that.
Good morning from Port Hope Ontario Canada. It is... (show quote)

Sorry to hear there were some complications with Mum's eye. Hope it settles down with the drops. We never know what to expect now do we? I'm on a year waiting list to have a vitrectomy and a membrane removed that was caused by the laser fix I had. It will be nice to not see a "smoke machine" blurring the vision in my Rt eye with this procedure. oxo

Hello all, thought it was about time to pull myself together again, I haven't done any spinning, or knitting, for a while now; & I am almost too exhausted to get out of my own way, and I am totally sick of feeling that way; so will pull out some way of doing things, with the hope of doing something different and getting back to normal.

Bundy needed to see the Vet on Tuesday, for investigations, due to a rapid loss of weight. So an Xray was done of his abdomen, and a lump (? tumour) was found at about the site that the appendix would be found on humans, which led to a blockage of his bowel, and also what seems to be a chest infection. We picked him up, at the appropriate time, and he is now having an antibiotic BD & 1.5 tabs of Macrolone (which I think is Prednisolone). The Vet had to rearrange his operating schedule, so that he could get Bundy in quickly, so that he could get some more definitive Xrays done, and continue onto surgery, if the results identified a tumour correctly. Fortunately that didn't happen, as the medication cleared whatever the lump in his lower abdomen was; but the clearer Xrays showed problems in his nasal cavity, near the Tonsils & Adenoid glands, and in the Turbinate .... which is not a good sign. The Vet is hoping that the medication will continue to reduce the problem in the nasal cavity; because operating in that region, in dogs, is very difficult. The problem isn't as bad as what it was, but we are still worried about him, as we don't know if the swelling is cancerous, benign or simply swelling, which will gradually disappear again, which is what we are hoping for!

Apart from poor Bundy's woes, everything is going well here. We are expecting some pretty spectacular thunderstorms and a lot of rain, from Cyclone Ilsa via the Kimberley region of West Australia; and we are getting quite a downpour now, which I hope will continue through the night ....... I seem to sleep much better, when we get heavy rain!

I hope all those who are not at the best of health atm, begin to feel better soon, and begin to get some nice Spring/Summer weather very soon! xoxoxo

Poor Bundy, hoping for the best outcome. Keep us informed. Hugs to you Judi. oxoxo

It’s me, early for a change. I’ve just driven 30miles on horrific roads. Let me swear. Blast 💥… I’m safe at Stephen’s and I don’t feel like ever driving up here again. I’ve got my coffee, strong, and my shakes are going off. I’m too old I think. Let me see how I feel in an hour.

Love yawl, I’ll be on later. Love yawl again.

I like it safe at home and where I know too...Hugs xoxox

I'm glad that worked for you. My cardi has quite visible stripes where I alternated yarn. Lucky for me it is most noticeable in the armpit area. So I won't walk around with my arms up.

Good morning everyone from a hazy/cloudy Norfolk. Having what posh people would call a fusion meal today, while I call it a what the hell can we have for dinner today and what do I fancy, so having duck spring rolls and garlic potato wedges. Brain is getting worn down trying to think of things for dinner every day. Nothing else planned for the day so will get on with my knitting this afternoon. Have a restful Sunday. xx
