I am in the process of bringing my fiancé from the Philippines to America. Part of the immigration process is proving relationship. Immigration likes date stamped photos. Can anyone suggest a reasonable camera that will fulfill this function?

Thank you

Does it have to be a physical photograph? If you have a smartphone the camera will date and time stamp all photos which you can see when looking at the detail information for the photo.

What is "reasonable"? Are you going to have prints made for immigration?

Thank you for your question. I think I have found what I need in an Olympus TG6, and used they are very reasonable. Yes, when printed the photo has to have a sate stamp originating within the camera, added or software originated dates are considered not acceptable by immigration.

I have the earlier TG-5 and like it. But, I'm not sure it will put the date stamp on a picture. It does record date, time and even GPS locations. I don't know how any of those would be on the prints done at a place like Walgreens.

I guess Immigration doesn't realize you could add a false date to a print in an editing program.

Lots of info here, but I saw no reference for date stamped photos. Perhaps there are other links with better info:

Most every digital camera date stamps photos in the EXIF.

EDIT: Most any photo program can put the created date in the image before it is printed.

That's exactly what I was going to say! Not only a nice waterproof, tough camera, but date stamps. And a whole lot of other attractive functions as well. It's my dive camera and my everyday carry camera. And I mean every day carry in a shoulder bag. Small and light. Don't know for sure but I suspect that the TG-5 also date stamps and is even less expensive than the TG-6. I highly recommend the TG cameras!!
And the date stamp appears on the photo with no finagling or extra steps!

I don't know if there is one. I didn't get an owners manual with mine and hate pdf manuals. I did recently find a source for printed manuals and have one on order for my TG-6.

Sounds a bit odd, and not very fool-proof; in the menu, you can set the date to any date you want, even if it is the wrong date.
