Nextodi backup storage

I purchased this device in late 2016 and I stored all the photos from my trip to Africa... I copied images from it several times after that trip, and I am trying to again. I have it all charged up, plugged into my computer, but I don't know what to do next? I searched on YouTube, and called B&H, from who I purchased it, (it is no longer available) and their website is not working?

I am SO upset!

Thanks!

One easy way to resolve Nextodi connectivity issues is by testing the device on a different computer or USB port. Sometimes, USB connections can be unpredictable, and changing the ports can improve the situation.

Another possible solution is to try using a different file manager or software, such as Adobe Lightroom or Windows Explorer, to access the Nextodi. This approach can help you determine if the problem lies with your device or the access software.

If you're still not able to access the Nextodi, reach out to the manufacturer's support team for additional help. They may recommend some troubleshooting techniques or provide a replacement or repair option if necessary.

Does it show up as an external drive on the computer? or do nothing.

It didn't sit un-powered for 6+ years, did it?
If it's a charge coupled device, the cell charges may have bled off, corrupting/annihilating the data.

Thanks so much! I finally got it going, but I'm sad to say that some of the pictures wouldn't transfer. I'm going to try calling a few places tomorrow, and see what can be done?!
It's killing me as they were pictures from my last safari... I may have them on one of my back up drives, but I have so many and never really organized them: )

What do you mean when you say some wouldn’t transfer? Do you get an error, and if so what?

It’s internal storage is a 2.5” SATA drive…

When I imported them into Lightroom, there were some that turned up blank! There were clearly photos but they wouldn't open?

I don’t think I’d buy a backup device whose name is “next-to-di”. Maybe that’s why they went out of business. 😜🤪🤣

If the images will not transfer, just try and copy the file folders and or images using your computer's operating system. For a windows device, that would be windows explorer.

I found this link at B & H. This might not be your model. Perhaps its User manual could be downloaded and maybe that manual could help you.
