I'm new here ... also just getting started with photography, but want to sell note cards, and mounted 8x10 photos at club store.
Do you think these pictures have enough appeal that people would buy them? Suggestions? I do have Elements 9 for editing.

Interesting that you are asking for feelings. The water vendor doesn't do anything for me. Its a good picture, just doesn't hold my attention.

The Grandparents brought a tear to my eye. The love is sooo obvious. I think its perfect for a note card. (Of course I'm just an amateurand an old softy)

I like the old world feeling I get from the table picture. The effects are spot on for me. I could see this framed on a wall or on the face of a note card.

I think you just have to test your market and see what it wants. The grandparents image is the most emotional the other two are OK, but don't do any thing for me. Lots of luck with your venture.

It's your cropping I need to comment on, the vendor needs to be tighter to make the face the focal point...plus you need to add some fill light in photoshop, the grandparents need to be cropped in a harsher landscape, longer and thinner, the grandmas legs distract, the relationship between the gparents and kids is the important part, and the archway can be cropped down, you don't need tomincludevthe whole arch, try leaving a bit of the arch on the left out of the picture and make the ratio of the crop longer and not so high, leave a little to the imagination, this will make the chairs the focal point...

I love the third one.. it has a bit of noise but that almost makes it look HDR...I'd buy that one myself. Love the subject the colors everything. Well done.

The arch, in my opinion, is the one of the three that is worth more than the other two, in my opinion.

Others feel differently, but this is my opinion.

I like #1, unique subject & colourful, You might be able to salvage some of it. Go back to as-shot image, work with curves if E9 doesn't have try Hue&Sa, shadow&hilites to pop face & costume. Lay off dodge tool & bright/contrast. lose the orange float,
#2 shows me nothing but woman with fat knees holding a bundle of blanket that she likes. No cuteness factor at all.
#3 I like the repeated arch shape. try bit more shadow detail and cropping just at the stone block @ low R. You may have a good eye. Learn to get in close and check lighting.

Thanks for all the good suggestions. I've tried a couple. I will try to do something with the Vietnam Vendor later.

Bad crop on arch pic, cuts off light arch and definition of main one. Take a look at original then with negative space on
right side cropped.
Grandma looks better - good for family album.
