Canon Printer support - or not!

I just upgraded my PC to a new Dell XPS8950 with Windows 11. When I hooked everything up, I found that I needed a print driver for my Canon Pro9000 printer. The Canon website blandly says, "This Printer is no longer supported." End of statement.
Does anyone have any ideas for a solution, other than junking a perfectly good printer?
And what about Canon's support?
Thanks

I have an xps8940 Dell Win 11 Pro and Canon Pro9000 working fine. Try the Pro9000 Mark II driver. This is from sketchy memory, I'll look it up.

What about it? You fail to mention what happened when you called them. Why?

the Win 10 version 5.75 of the Pro 9000 mk2 driver (available on the Canon site) worked fine for me under Win 11. Be wary of downloading drivers from 3rd party sites unless the site has a good reputation AND it doesn’t attempt to download other SW as well (which is fairly typical).

I'd call Canon anyway.

For whatever reason this OP refuses to help himself. I have been dealing with Canon long enough to know the web site is light years behind schedule. My Pro-100 had a glitch and thev first thing I did was make a phone call. Solved my problem quickly. BUT, I HAD to dial it myself!

Thanks, i'll give it a try - I guess I was put off by a very clear statement on their website - "This printer is no longer supported."
But maybe they are exaggerating -

Try downloading and installing the Win 10 driver. The printer may be “no longer supported”, and that’s likely what support will tell you (there’s no money in continuing to write new drivers for old products every time a new OS comes out), but my 9000 works fine on Win11 with the Canon provided WIn 10 driver package.

I had the very same problem with my Canon PIXMA MG6220 All-in-One printer. When my old computer died a slow death...I thought I'd stay ahead of the game and get a new computer with Windows 11...Big mistake!! Windows11 is probably ok...except about half of my old software including my Canon printer was not compatible or upgradable. Six months later I'm still fighting compatibility issues.

Your warning about 3rd party sites should be shouted out. There is absolutely no need to use one of those “free” sites. There I’d no such thing as a free lunch site!
