Without clicking on the list yet, yes, it certainly does depend.

EDIT: Wow! No mention of ON1?!

More - It all comes down to opinion and what someone considers important. I'm surprised that the newcomer - Neo - get rated so highly.

Quite a selection there. I’m still climbing the learning curve on Photoshop Elements 2018, though. My old brain can handle only so much at one time anymore. But I may invest in Topaz Denoise.

So glad I have a couple of editors that meet my needs.

Not valid without On1 inclusion.

Anyone else's favorite editor missing from the list?

Shows what I know…. I’m using 2023 ON1 Photo Raw, 2019 PSE, and Fast View. All got no love….

Parts of that article hint of being written too quickly and maybe with the help of ChatGPT!

Number 2 was "Lightroom". It didn't mention the difference between Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic. "like Photoshop but stripped of all that is not related to photo editing". Really?

Number 7 was Photoshop. The article called it expensive at $20/month. It didn't mention that it was in the $10 package with the Lightrooms.

Number 10 was Canva. Having never heard of it before, it is the second time this week. A local uses it regularly for "flyers" and extolled its virtues. It is time for some YouTube study. Adobe seems to be reacting to Canva's success because they are on a big push with what they call Express.

I did see Topaz DeNoise AI listed.
However, I did not see ANY other Topaz products mentioned.
From these posts, I would assume that Topaz Products' offerings may target the casual user???
I wonder what I am missing???
I do know that Topaz Photo AI works for me.
Best Wishes,

I'd vote for the one that you know best. While every tool has its advantages and flaws, results depend upon knowledge, training, and experience. If you keep hopping around from application to application, will you ever get good at any of them, or will you just get confused?
