Any thoughts or comments about taking a d850 on a Niagra falls boat ride. The one that goes to to the falls complete with most. I know not to try and change a lens but they are also weather sealed. Any thoughts or comments are welcomed.
Personally, I'd prepare a plastic bag around the lens & camera so just the front of the lens is exposed, everything else wrapped, including my hand inside the protection to control the camera. You can buy these, but can make a 1-time use just as easy. And, have a dry towel for afterward. Those steps and the equipment's internal protections are fine to exit this situation with no undue risk.

Is the water at Niagara worse than the videos of folks rinsing off a dirty camera in the sink under running water ?
Not the same camera but last year I took my d500 and the 18-300 mm zoom thru many areas were they got wet due to rain, mist off of water falls and walking under cliff with small waterfalls and had no issues; but i dfid try to sheild the camera. I do have rain bags that I use when walking in the rain with either the d500 or d850 and have no issues other than rain spots on the lens. The d850, f2.8 24 to 70 and the the 70 to 200 are considered weather sealed
Interesting. I’m not sure if it would relate to the D850. I’d have no problem taking my Z9 but I wouldn’t be doing video. Although in that situation I’d more likely take my OM-1. The weathersealing is phenomenal with its IP53 rating. That being said, Nikon is known for excellent weathersealing on its top models. Whatever camera you use though, you need the lens to be weathersealed too or all bets are off.

They forgot to take off the lenses to rinse out the insides.

I think CHG_CANON has the right idea. But I still wouldn't take my D850 there. I would have NO problem taking my TG-6. And under the circumstances would get just as good photos!

Thanks all 4 of my Tamron are weather sealed.

Dedicate one of your jacket pockets for carrying a lens cloth and remind yourself to make frequent use of it. In the worst areas try to minimise the time between wiping the lens and shooting.
One afterthought - weather sealed doesn't mean watertight. Don't expose camera or lens to any more of a soaking than you have to.
The 850 is capable of taking pictures underwater so I don't think Niagara Falls will pose a problem for you

???!!??!?!?!!!?!!?!?While I do have some doubts about that, lets just say that somebody somewhere has actually done it. My concern would be "Can it do it more than once ?" .... or can it do anything at all ever again ?

Having checked tramseys archive, I think I might understand how he can claim such a thing .......

You left out the part about the need to put it in a watertight case if you plan to take pictures underwater.
