Problem with Canon R6 II-HELP

I know Apple's going to tell me to contact Canon and Canon's going to tell me it's a problem for Apple to solve which is why I'm probably going to return the Mark II to B&H. I hate to do that as I really like the camera. I've taken over 5k photos since I started storing them on my computer (when my granddaughter was born in 2013). I've probably used at least a dozen different cameras and uploaded all of them successfully onto the computer (my second MacBook Pro since '13). I shoot the photos, remove the SD card from the camera and insert it into the computer and they go into "Imports" and then to "Library", from which I can "Choose File" and download any that I want. Well, I took a couple dozen photos at a car show this summer with my R6 (not II) and they all showed up in "Imports" but a half dozen never made it to "Library" so I couldn't download them ("Choose File"). OK, I let that slide, but now with the Mark II they go to "Import" but none go to "Library" so of course I can't "Choose File". Does anyone have a answer?

Your computer is the failure not the camera.
Get a computer that can import photos by copy paste or drag and drop.
Then there will be no problems.

Isn't it likely any (every?) new camera will behave slightly different for each new iteration of Apple software? That means no new cameras, if you the human, won't learn new steps to offload your images.

See Architect's response above, that suggests ignoring the automation and actively performing the copy / paste action yourself, actively controlling what is copied and where they go.

Have you consulted the EOS R6-II manual for how Canon suggests moving images from the camera card to the Apple? Is a bluetooth connection an option? Is the download Canon Connect software an option? Does Apple have 'default actions' like Windows to configure (change) what happens / what software gets involved with the SD card is detected?

You think his computer does not provide for copy paste drag and drop? Why on earth would you say that? Oh wait maybe it is because you have zero experience with that brand.

In response to your first sentence Paul...every camera I've ever used (at least a dozen or so) worked perfectly fine. I'm not a highly technical person, so from the responses, I'm trying to figure out whether to call Apple or Canon first.

I don’t think the camera is the source of the problem. It sounds like something got changed in the software.

And what software is that? Photos?

I recommend you make an appointment at the Apple Store where you bought it, and take the computer, camera, and flash card and show them what is happening. They will help you resolve the issue.

It will never be yesterday again. You're probably going to have to up your game, given tomorrow is always changing.

Make sure you're clear on what you "want" to happen. Accept otherwise only if that can no longer be technically accomplished.

A childish response, but I’m not surprised.

Oh well I hope if some UHH who buys refurbished R6 ii doesn't get your camera. It has many activations.

I called Apple and after a 1/2 hour came up with the solution. I'll post the answer tomorrow. All is well.
