Paperless Billing

I generally have paperless billing for everything. However, Citibank sends me at least one piece of mail just about every day - all advertising and promotions. I don't even open them anymore because I can tell which are ads and which are serious (virtually none). They go right into the wood stove. Because of that, I switched to the paper bill.

I just received an email from them: "We noticed you're not Paperless." The advertising department must have an unlimited budget for paper, printing, and postage, but the CC division is on an economy kick.

I got a note saying my tax forms are available, and will be paperless. They still aren’t available.

Paperless can be frustrating. After I download paperless tax info, I print it and save the digital files.

Help the PO. Every ad I get mailed to me I return to them since they pay the return postage (after removing any of my ID info of course). Sometimes I even return empty envelopes. Let these guys help pay for postal services. Maybe it will raise their operating costs so much they will reduce the number of these ads they send out.

I’m considering installing a trashcan outside beside the mailbox to avoid bringing it in as almost all my mail is junk.

I think I saw a cartoon like that: Mail - Junk Mail.

I like knowing what mail I'm getting ahead of time so I know if it's worth walking down the driveway to get it. We get ads for windows and a plumber several times a week.

Years ago my credit union browbeat me into going "Paperless".
Now I receive at least one very slick multi-page advert and reminders from them every week.
Sometimes two in one day, yikes!
I don't have a woodstove and that is another reason that Virginia is second in the nation (behind Penn) for importing trash from other states.
So much for recycling . . . .

Thing is, it's wrong very often, especially about packages, which if they don't fit in our oversized mailbox just are left on the ground, rain or shine. (Can't even see our box from our house).

Everyone should have an oversized mailbox. So many smaller packages fit into that. If it doesn't fit, the mail carrier brings it to our door, often with a treat for our dog. I remember when we used to get a yellow note telling me to pick up a pkg at the PO.

In our little hamlet on Long Island, NY, we don’t get mail delivery. We have to go to the PO to get mail from our PO Box. There’s a desk in the lobby and 2 huge bins where everyone throws their junk mail. The bins are always full.

I don't go paperless for my bills. I let the companies pay to print a statement and then pay the postage to send it to me - the P.O. can use the money. If the statement doesn't show up in a timely manner I can go on-line and download it. However, I go on-line to pay the bills through my bank. Saves me from paying the postage.

I guess I'm fortunate. I get two or three letters a year, and no bills.
