I’ve had my lunch from next door. It’s gorgeous. I’ve enough for 3 lunches so I’ve wrapped some up and have two frozen for another day. It was unbelievable. Next door are quite a “food loving” family, so you can imagine the size of the plate. It’s more than a dustbin lid🤣. I’m going to bore you. There is Yorkshire puddings..roast potato..creamed potato. Sprouts..cabbage..stuffing..parsnips.. 🥕 carrots. Stuffing.. broccoli 🥦. Gravy…cheese sauce… then…..Christmas pudding and custard…OMG I kid you not…….how’s that for a lunch 🍱 they are so kind and good to me. Thankyou Karen Andrew and Michelle……. Plus beef and pork
I’ve been doing some crosswords today as well as sudokus. I was going to tidy again but I thought better of it. I actually got up at 9am today too. Put the light out at 9pm last night. I keep wondering what day it is. I’ve not been too sure if it’s Monday or Tuesday. Things will be back to normal very soon. I’ve enjoyed the holidays. I’ve had some valuable me time 💆‍♀️ too. I’ve enjoyed it. Back to my classes next week and here we go.

Lisa and Angela I hope you’re feeling not so sad 😭 today. All my sisters stay safe. Love ❤️ yawl. Here if you need me. Xxx

I think I slept most of the day away and then I cooked and watched a movie! I couldn’t figure out if it was Monday or Tuesday either.

I'm getting over the after-effects of Radiotherapy, and a dose of coconut poisoning. Who puts dessicated coconut in chocolate chip cookies, for heavens sake?

Probably the same people who put coconut oil in hot chocolate mix my tongue swelled up really bad, I read all labels know since it makes no sense to me at all better safe than sorry, I always ask if something has coconut in it if someone else has made it!

I’ve just had a lovely bath with all my New exfoliating creams that I got at Christmas from one of the boys. It’s such a struggle to get in the bath but it’s worth it in the end. I got a message from Karen this morning. Did I fancy a cuppa ☕️ of chocolate 🍫. Well when do I ever say no. Not very often. She’s in fine fettle. Been in trouble 👿 for getting the grandkids too much at Christmas 🎅 she says son and wife were complaining she knows she’s “naughty” but as she says she doesn’t do much else…..I’m not getting involved. Haha. I can see it from both sides.

Stephen is back at work tomorrow and is not looking forward to it…….honestly, he’d be the first to moan if he didn’t have a job. And …if he’s like his dad was , he’ll hate retirement. Albert hated it…. I think he said he needed a break!,,,,,,,,,,,,,, how many more breaks in the year does he need? I’m just a mam that’s let’s it all go over my head, and nod and agree most of the time. The moans get off their shoulders. Lovely kids. For all he’s 50. He keeps telling me over and over again. It seems to be bothering him too. He’ll have to be like the rest of us and cope with what we’ve all been given in the best way possible…….

I think that’s enough for this afternoon my ice cream lolly is melting. Stay safe and warm……and be careful out there. Love yawl. Xxx

Nice cup and nice reminder of bluebells.
I got Christmas presents of both Lindt Lindor truffles (2 mixed bags) and a huge box of chocolate creams from Purdy's, so I will have chocolate for a long time. I'm hoping to find a spot in the freezer for at least one of those Lindor bags. I'm pretty good with sweets. I allow myself 3 chocolates per day. I do have a "Chocolate Survival" box on my desk for those times when I need to stuff a chocolate in my mouth instead of saying or typing what I want to say, but that doesn't happen often.

I got Lindt too, along with bar of black and greens. And some frero Roche. I have to suck the nut 🌰 because I’ve hardly got any teeth. Like you I have a couple a night BUT I’m back and hooked onto werthers sugar free. It’s worse than when I smoked….well, not really. It’s 13 yrs for me stopping now. Wendy has one of these nicotine cigarettes and it’s never out of her mouth. She has an awful cough and chest. Seemingly it’s nicotine that’s in it , I thought they were those vapour things. They aren’t cheap either. But I look at it this way. She doesn’t do much else and her pretend cigs and vodka and coke on a night stops the boredom……each to their own. I know if I had a try, I’d get addicted again. Look at me with the werthers toffees……

I would have said that I read all ingredients, but I honestly cannot believe that someone would put desiccated coconut in chocolate cookies.

It took a while to realise that it was coconut. I usually double up in agony from my stomach and then all the way down, but this time I came out in a blotchy hot rash that kept me awake two nights running, slathering E45 all over the blotches every couple of hours. The itching was so hot and intense I was near screaming point. Strange. I thought at first it was the Radiotherapy that I had the week before Christmas week.

Hello ladies, atm I am watching a program called "Wildlife Rescue", and the first little creature rescued is a baby long nosed Bandicoot, who fell out of his mum's pouch, when she ran across a road. He is such a cute little thing, with no fur, such a beautiful little creature. It is really wonderful to see so many of these animals being returned to the wild, after they have been healed of whatever injuries they suffered before their rescue. I think I would have liked to do the kind of work these people do. They are repairing a pelicans' beak pouch, which has suffered a huge tear, which would have caused him to starve to death.

Anyway, I will now do some more catchup, and Jackie, I really hope that you are well on the way to full recovery from your illness! xoxoxo

Good morning from a cloudy but mild Norfolk although rain is forecast for later. Next time round I'm going to find a man who can cook, up early (for me at the moment) to get a bit of brisket in the oven to pot roast, he sat in the other room reading his paper, I suppose we've been married too long to change him now. Nothing planned for the rest of the day although washing is piling up, I know he can put clothes in the machine but not a mention of that. Sorry in a moan-y mood this morning, you all have a good day, anyone staying up to see the New Year in. Count me out. xx

Hi Jackie, you are welcome to be moan-y, on here, whenever you want to; you will always be listened to by us; and it helps reduce any angst, that might be residing in your mind & body, possibly making things feel a bit worse than they might be!
Anyway, I hope you are feeling much better by now, you seem to have been having a bit of a rough time lately! xoxoxo

Good morning from Port Hope Ontario Canada. It is 6:54 am EST and 7'c (45'F). It's raining and will be raining tonight for New Year's. It was 11'c (52'F). A lot of the snow is melting but we still have drifts in the back yard.
I did the bi-weekly shopping yesterday instead of today. I figured the stores would be crazy busy today. It was a good choice. I was surrounded by seniors who were all very good about wearing masks. Not a kid in sight. I didn't have much on my list, we had not run out of much.
Mum went to see her friend Chris. She had a horrible time at Christmas. They were without power for 60 hours, her generator stopped working when it ran out of gas/petrol, then her sump pump stopped and her basement flooded, drowning her gas furnace. The basement has been pumped out but the furnace needs to be replaced. She has an electric backup or she would have to leave the house. Her son took time off working at the hospital to come help her.
Today is the Knit in your Pajamas party at the LYS. The owner said come early to get a good seat. I was at the LYS yesterday. I had a math knit problem that I wanted a second opinion. The owner is very good with knitting. I muddled my way through it but wasn't happy with my results. They were too loose, so I took out a few rows and I'm reknitting it again. I even got to sit and chat with one of our ladies who has brain cancer. She has survived surgery, chemo and radiation and is sporting a really attractive buzz cut hairdo. I haven't seen her for a couple of months. She was wearing a N95 mask and has started getting all her innoculations again. She's on her 2nd covid shot and needs to wait for the rest. Today will also be the cast on party for the January KAL. I have my yarn ready.
Tonight will be low key in this house. I may stay up to watch the New Year's festivities on TV. I have a couple of bottles of wine but no champagne.

DH & I didn't wait up for New Year's celebrations, but we did manage to hear the celebrations of other people's parties and fireworks. There would have been quite a few confused drug users, around the local area on New Year's, because the dealers use fireworks to notify the users of the availability of the products that they need. There might have been some ordinary people getting visits from those who were expecting to be able to get their new doses. 🤔🙄🤨 xoxoxo

Brisket sounds wonderful. And it can have a long slow cook cooking itself. I did my last brisket in the Instant Pot and it was a success.
Just keep letting the clothes go. He'll figure it out when he has nothing to wear. Or he'll wear dirty clothes.
I'll be sleeping through New Year with you.

I think you have a good idea there, Mav......... One would hope it would work, but I wouldn't count on it! 😉🤔🤨🤐 xoxoxo

Unfortunately, not in my yard, as DH grew up with a concreted backyard, and the only plants were in pots. He has removed quite a few of trees that we had, but he did leave my Callistemon (Native Bottlebrush) shrubs as I think I may have threatened him with neutering, if those shrubs went missing, and I also have a Native Desert Rose bush, in my front yard. I might have to get my act together and add some photos when they are in flower! 🤔🤗 xoxoxo
