Nice burst. I would keep number three. To bad you didn't catch the ball on the racket.

Enchanting elegance... Epic sequence...
Have you considered cropping tighter? The background simply doesn't add to the narrative here.

Excellent composition... Your wise choice of vantage works well to produce Side Illumination... i.e. Dimensional relief... which breaths life into this two dimensional rendering...

Also please consider boosting contrast and color saturation with a healthy "S" curve...
Deep Shallows are your friend here. btw, you've lost a tad of detail in her blown out blond hair highlights...
Please consider "Expose to the Right" next time... Always check your Histograms... experience is a brutal teacher...

That said, avoid "In Camera" HDR... It will cripple your frame rate...
Always best to Avoid Any In Camera Processing and use third part HDR solutions instead...

Final thoughts? You're way too far back for the optics you've deployed....either get closer, or get longer faster glass... Being a Nikon shooter in this scenario I cherish the classic AF 180mm f/2.8 which is tack sharp even wide open (at f/2.8) Or even better yet get closer with an AF 85mm f/1.4...

Hope this helps... Thank you so much for sharing, brings back many wonderful days on the red clay...
Totally Love the sport... played in for many years... Please keep shooting/sharing... Many Many Thanks!

Thomas,
Thanks for your reply and comments. I appreciate your recommendations for improvement. I just noticed this reply last night or I would have replied earlier.
On cropping; I assume you mean into more of a portrait mode. I wanted to keep her whole body in the shot or are you recommending cropping in tighter on the body?
I was sitting netside with a 70-200 lens so I don’t think I was too far away. Should I shoot tennis vertically? I have started to do this with basketball if I get courtside.
These were taken mid afternoon on a sunny day so I actually tried to reduce contrast to soften the harsh shadows. Mistake??
I have followed your work on here and you give very insightful comments on others’ work. Again, I thank you for the suggestions to make things better.

Thomas can you please explain the healthy S curve. I think many of us would benefit with further explanation of that. Thanks Thomas.

Making the straight line (in curves) into more of an S-Curve you will add contrast to the image. Note: if you have an image with too much contrast the opposite can work. Pull down the highlights, and push up the dark areas on the curve to get an Inverted S-Curve.

However the above assumes you're tweaking the Luminosity Curve...
I often remove color casts by using an inverted S-Curve on the effected channel.

Jules there are three channels Luminosity; Red; Green and Blue

The only way to get your head around this to actually experiment with this on a "Real" image.
Experience is a brutal yet highly effective teacher...

I'm wasting time trying to explain this if you're using Lightroom rather than PhotoShop.
Sliders make it too easy to fix or wreak an image without knowing which color channels are effected and why...

Thanks Thomas for the explanation. I use the curve in Photoshop and it helps a lot.

"...On cropping; I assume you mean into more of a portrait mode..." Mi630 yes...
Pick up previous copies of Tennis Magazine... Study the covers very carefully...
There you'll find your competition, word!

Below is in a format I'd consider submitting to any Tennis Magazine Editor...
Yes I selectively boosted your stellar image tone curve....

However you'll a tad late for TENNIS Magazine’s six-decade print run since their last publication was October 2022 I believe...

Hope this helps Mi630
All the best on your photographic journey
