What program was it?

Back 20 some years ago there was a program that used hot keys and would allow you to type specific things set up by you with just a couple of keystrokes. Like if you often said keep the shiny side up you could hit whatever the hot key is and type kssu and it would insert keep the shiny side up. I think it was Borland Sidekick but can't remember for certain. Anyone remember it and what it was called? Anyone know of a currently available software to do the same?

Nope, sorry. If I recall correctly, there is a macro option in Windows 10, under 'developer'. Never used it.

I remember Borland Sidekick well. I also remember Wordstar and SuperCalc.

No, it worked anywhere in any program. I think it was part of Sidekick but can't remember. Hoping someone else has a better memory.

This appears to be the modern version of what I recall. I'm going to explore using it but still hope someone recalls what the version was back then.

MacOS has done that for decades. If I type r-t-f-m without the dashes, I get Read The *Fine* Manual. There, it just did that! If I type my initials, it substitutes my full name. You can set up whatever string of text you want.
