Hay every one I am after a lens for my Nikon D5600 maybe a f1.2 for shooting dark gigs looking for Nikon or Sigma etc does anyone have anything or any recommendations ?
Thanks in advance
What type of gigs do you do? Distance from you to subjects (generally)?
1.2 1.4 1.7 , not much of a difference , beside the price .
Welcome to UHH Matt...
Nikon recommends it's 35mm f/1.8 Nikkor as best low light DX lens for the Nikon d3500/d3600...
Albeit you're limited to an ISO Sensitivity of 100 - 25,600 (this is one area where your kit can hold you back).
Maybe look into picking up a used D500 (they are everywhere now sports/wildlife shooters are dumping them for a Z mount)
Since you asked the Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 is the tool for the job provided you can shoot with a monopod in the venue. You'll not be able to hand hold this beast (the Sigma is ~ 1491grams naked and lacks OS i.e. VR).
mpb has this Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM ART - Nikon Fit for only $719
https://www.mpb.com/en-us/product/sigma-50-100mm-f-1-8-dc-hsm-art-nikon-fit/sku-1687857Since you're located in France maybe check out their UK shop...
Hope this helps, all the best on your photographic journey Matt

Thomas; you always give such great advice! I for one learn much from your posts. BTW hope you are doing well and having a great holiday season. I am enjoying the Nikon D7100 and the lens that I purchased from you.
Thank you so much Richard for the very kind words and wishes for a great Holiday Season.
Greatly appreciate your continued support!
And yes that Nikon D7100 is a fabulous camera that served me well for quite a few years. It was a HUGE step up from my D7000 especially in resolution and wonderfully responsive AF, while the D7000 was awesome in it's day, Nikon rolled some major improvements into the D7100... DxOmark places it's sensor in the same category as the Nikon D500.
Really happy it's working admirable for you as well as that epic vintage Nikkor.
Nikon was producing some to the finest optics in the marketplace then (all metal build and made in Japan).
I still use many of my AI and AI-S Nikkors in the studio now for Product Photography where they truly shine!
Again best wishes for much success on your photographic journey Richard
