Nikkor AF-S 24mm f/1.8G ED Prime Lens

This lens was bought new and has been lightly used on only three trips for night photography. This lens has no discernible coma in the corners. I wanted to go a bit wider for the Milky Way so I got the 20mm when it came available here on UHH from another member. Front and rear caps, bayonet hood, case, and paperwork all included in original box.
Price is $425 and includes shipping in the contiguous states.

I don't need the lens but just wanted to say that your asking price is very fair, not much more than B&H would offer and they would pay for shipping. Good luck.

Thanks! If I don't sell it, I have no reluctance keeping it, its that good for Milky Way. But the 20mm gets more of the arch.

Very fair price! I'm seriously contemplating purchasing a D700 and a couple of primes thanks to another post here regarding a D700/D610 shootout and this is one of the lenses I would buy.

I have lusted for a D700 on and off for a very long time!

The fourth image in your post (of the Lens Mount) is identical to the fifth image in your previous post for the Nikon DX AF-S 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VRII Lens (at least in my humble estimation, the "N" for it's Nano Crystal Coat is clearly visible in the top of both of these images). To the very best of my knowledge Nikon did not use Nano Crystal Coat on it's lens element(s) in the Nikon DX AF-S 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VRII Lens

I believe you owe the UHH members an explanation here Diane, btw the only reason I noticed this was I was actually interested in your Nikon DX AF-S 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VRII Lens, that is until I saw your image of the "apparent" Metal Lens Mount. (All reviews of the Nikon DX AF-S 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VRII Lens I've read mentioned that it's plastic lens mount leaves something to be desired... i.e. subject to breakage at the mount.)

Note: I do not have this lens, so forgive me if I'm incorrect on this call... And please except my humble apologies, albeit if there are variants with metal lens mounts I will certainly continue to search for one with a metal lens mount...

Again I would suggest you offer an explanation about this in your Nikon DX AF-S 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VRII Lens post. https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-758203-1.html

Addendum: After an exhaustive search I did find a 2x OPTICAL CONVERTER FOR Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VR II which "appears" to have a Metal Lens Mount. If you actually have this 2x Optical Converter attached I may still be interested in your advertised Nikon DX AF-S 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VRII Lens especially since this converter is selling for $253.88 (this Seller has 100% feedback and has sold 39 2x Converters)
Find it here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/153168217071
Oh, one of the buyers noted in their review of the 2x Converter "The converter only auto focuses to 85mm (170mm). After that it must be manually focused." Oh well, nice idea... caveat emptor lol

Kudos on your stellar "Vincent van Gogh" starry, starry night Diane... absolutely breathtaking!

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of the aforementioned.
Wishing you a joyful Holiday and much success moving forward with your UHH marketing efforts.

I'm curious, in what ways did the D700 surpass the D610? The D610 has a slightly better score than even my D750, and I love both of them. Only selling the D610 because I want identical bodies. (My senior brain get confused easily, lol.)

Hi dmeyer,

Perhaps you misunderstood or maybe I'm the one confused :-) I didn't mention that the D700 surpassed the D610.I just mentioned i've been obsessing about it on and off for years. When Thomas902 posted his love of the D700 and showed a super sharp photo taken with a D3 which uses the same sensor as the D700, it triggered my lust once again!

The heart wants what the heart wants, especially when it comes to photo equipment!!

I hope this helps clear things up.

best,
Paul

The fourth image in your post (of the Lens Mount) ... (show quote)

Thank you, Thomas, for the good catch! I had photographed all five pieces of equipment (that I currently have posted) in one shooting and when I was picking the images to post for the 55-200mm from the collection, the 24mm and 55-200mm lenses were back to back. With the little thumbnails, l picked the wrong lens mount image...my bad!!
I have gone back to the 55-200mm post and noted my mistake, adding the correct image.
