In Las Vegas, with the North Rim closed and the South Rim too far away for a day trip, I decided to try Grand Canyon West. This portion of the Grand Canyon is not part of the National Park. It is owned by the Hualapai tribe. The tribe decided to use its area by creating the Skywalk, a glass balcony that allows tourists to see straight down into the canyon. In that you cannot take a camera or iPhone on the Skywalk, I decided not to bother.
My main reason for the trip was the helicopter rides available into the canyon. I will posts shots from that ride later.
This set is shots from the two main viewpoints - Eagle Point, with its Skywalk, and Guano Point, site of the old guano mine.
Comments and suggestions are welcome.
Never got to see the western side of the Canyon. Beautiful!

Thanks, Barbara, the 21 mile access road ride is a bit rough, but you get to see a different view.
Nice shots Mike, I particularly liked your #7.
Excellent, Mike. Beautiful set.

Very nice. I've been there. The only negative in my experience was the restaurant. It specializes in overcooked hamburgers. I too did not go on the Skywalk. I took one look at the line and decided that my time would be better spent exploring the vistas. I would recommend going there to anyone, but consider eating either before or after the experience.
Thanks for the thumbs up, Bill.
