This video is longer than my weekly posts. Actually, it is longer than I usually speak in a sermon! But I thought this was special for Veterans Day, and I share it with those who are interested. Thank you to all who served!

Thanks,

Ben

No matter where you are during a war, on the water or in a hole war is all the same. Thank God we have some one to hang on to during these times.
I was in a hole in Nam with a friend. He and I were talking when he didn't answer I boosted him with my elbow and he fell. He had taken a bullet right between his eyes and I didn't even know.

Oh, how awful. I’m so sorry! I honor you for your service!

Sad, sad.

We all have stories to tell about military life. I even wonder why some of us made it back to the u. s. and others didn't.

Thanks for the sermon. God bless the United States and all that served, and are serving. to preserve our freedoms.

Wow, very dramatic and powerful story. It sent a chill up my spine. My father was a baker who enlisted and was promoted during basic training to Mess Sergeant; the Army was desperate for soldiers with culinary skills. He was deployed on a troop carrier to England. As a result of the sinking of the Dorchester, his transport to England was diverted to Greenland, where he completed his military service.

Rabbi Ben,
Thank you for your beautiful sermon on Love.
I value your channel as I learn from it.
It is comforting to see that Religion is basically the love of God,
love of ourselves and love of our fellow man.

Thanks for this compelling account of love and heroism. I was aware of these patriots in a cursory way, but your back story fleshes out the narrative. This brought to mind the words of Paul Harvey (remember him?) on the radio (remember that?), "Now you know the rest of the story!"
