I have a problem using Photoshop 2022 or 2023. Adobe requires at least 2000GPU. Can you suggest a computer like what Jesus in Photoshop uses?
Thanks

Well, now there is a new meaningful measure of merit - 2000GPU. I've never heard of that requirement for Photoshop and can't find any such reference from Adobe to 2000GPU.

Perhaps you should tell us what computer you currently have. PC? Mac? Tandy?

BTW Jesus uses CorelDraw...

I think they’re referring to a Garphics card/GPU with a passmark >2,000 (which is pretty slow graphics by modern standards). For reference, a RTX 3060 is 17,080. As I recall, it also requires a driver less than 6 month old, 1.5GB VRAM min and Open CL & GL support. If you don’t meet the requirements, it will still run, but won’t use the GPU, which makes some tools unavailable, and others quite slow.

If you have a desktop, you can add a graphics card easily. Almost any new card will work well, or there are a lot on eBay these days since the crypto collapse, as an example an rx580 with 8 gb is around $100 and I am sure there are better deals. If you have a laptop, its time for a new one. Ideally look for one that has a faster processor, at least 16gb of RAM and a separate GPU. If you have a budget in mind I’m sure you will get suggestions from other hoggers.

Here’s a link to the passmark site. They list both the performance and price of almost any graphics card you can image as well as CPUs, etc. - very useful: https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

Jesus predates photoshop by almost two thousand years.

Yes, both my laptop and desktop have this message. No big surprize. So I've just treated myself to a big new computer with a big new video card. LOVE IT! And of course my monitor immediately died, so now I also have a larger and higher resolution monitor. With NVidea bringing out the RTX 4000 series there's some real bargains (or were) in RTX 3000 series video cards that are perfectly good.

CAUTION!
Some of the larger high end graphic cards may overtax the Power Supply in a low-power desktop.

You can always check your Computer Manufacture options spec to see what they recommend and use this as a guide.

Thank you for pointing out an important point. I should have mentioned that.

Yes! One of my Electronic Systems instructors taught the class to "Keep the Blue Smoke away from the Customer"

Yes, 5 considerations when upgrading:

1) do you have an open full length PCIe slot (preferably x16) with enough room on the component side to accommodate a thick card. Some cards with fans are over an inch wide.
2) is your power supply large enough. Even a moderate modern graphics card can draw 120 watts, and really “hot” ones can draw in excess of 200W - typically more than your CPU
3) most modern graphics cards have an extra on board power connector. Does your power supply have this particular connector? If not, good reason to go ahead and upgrade your power supply and address consideration 2 at the same time.
4) Does your case have one or two cooling fans? You need to be able to extract that 100-200 watts of heat from the card, regardless of the fact the card has fans.
5) does the card have ports that match your display? If not, an adapter cable will be required. Also, if you’re using multiple displays, does it have enough ports?

what computer did you get now? I will show all these messages to my husband who is a software engineer. While budget is not a problem I wonder about paying such a high price. Photography is my hobby. I am not a professional photographer.

Thanks for the feedback
