In up state new York.

Just saw where someone posted a couple of photos on of this place. I've been to New York, not far from there, and missed this gem. It's absolutely breath taking. It's on my bucket list now.

You new yorkers are lucky.

Here is a link to some photos and info.

I spend my summers less than 10 miles from the park. It is indeed very impressive. There are multiple waterfalls on the gorge trail. Only downside is how out of shape I feel when joggers pass me going up and then AGAIN on their way back down! LOL.

Beautiful area but a real challenge to photograph. The deep ravines and bright white waters are just too much of a spread for sensors to handle. When the bottom of the ravines are exposed correctly skies and high vegetation around the rim will be blown out. The best shooting condition would be to find a hazy-bright day. Also, isolate smaller areas as rcorne001 did in his 2nd shot. Don't go on a hot day -- the pools of water will be filled with bathers and you will not get great nature shots. Cornell university is at the southern tip of one of the finger lakes so put that on your list of places to visit. There are some great waterfalls right on the campus. I was there about three years ago and hope to return in the next year or so. It is a beautiful area but lends itself to visual appreciation more so than for taking great photos.
