You were lucky. We were in the area in early July and despite being in several usually good viewing locations, never saw it. Weather plus smoke from the numerous forest fires were to blame.

Your photo reminds me of our trip to Alaska 20 years ago. We flew to Anchorage a few days before our cruise and drove to Denali N.P. It was a cloudy day, but the clouds parted and there it was. At first I thought the snow covered peak was more cloud but then realized it was the mountain. I could not imagine a mountain could tower so high about those in the foreground. Your image shows that very well. Thanks for sharing.
